Demcon becomes a new resident at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven

Demcon joins the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven as a resident as per the 1st of July. Demcon acts as an incubator for ambitious companies distinguishing themselves by their meaningful innovations. Demcon supports both startups and scaleups by offering them technological expertise and experience. Demcon wants to be close to the startup companies and become part of the startup ecosystem.

“In our office in Best the atmosphere is very energetic and stimulating. There is an elevated level of interaction. Ideally, we would like to experience the same the minute we step outside our front door. We are sure the High Tech Campus will offer us exactly that”, according to Barend Vermeulen. He is business unit manager Hightech Systems. When asked why Demcon is making this move now, he answers: “It is just the perfect time to do so. We experienced a significant growth over the last couple of years. The Demcon Group has more than 1,000 people on the payroll, 220 of them work in Best. As a result of our growth, we have enough resources available to deploy, allowing us to diversify within a number of market segments such as energy (climate technology), agri & food and life sciences & health.”

Growing entrepreneurs
According to Vermeulen, practically all startups face the exact same problems. Although they want to focus on developing their technology, they find themselves spending a lot of time trying to find investors instead. This is exactly where Demcon comes in. “Not by just handing over a bag of money

but rather by supplying them with our knowledge and experience. On top of that, they get access to our extensive network and facilities. We are happy to participate, unburden them and take our responsibility so these promising start-ups can concentrate on their core business.”

Working together on the solutions for tomorrow
Demcon is moving to the perfect location. “We are close to both other incubators as well as startups. Amongst them you can find the successful companies of the future. These entrepreneurs are driven and passionate. They genuinely want to make a difference and contribute to society, rather than just focus on huge profits. They have a different mindset, and they need partners who understand what makes them tick. It’s not just about money, it’s also about sharing knowledge and experience.”

Jan-Willem Neggers, Managing Director High Tech Campus “Sharing knowledge and open innovation both contribute to an ideal startup ecosystem. We are always happy to welcome new residents to the campus who are willing to share their knowledge and experience to develop meaningful innovations for social problems.”

“What we, as Demcon, hope to achieve by this move is to turn startups into successful companies, acting as their supplier or partner. This will help us to create a positive impact, not only in the Netherlands but also in Benelux and the rest of Europe.”, according to Vermeulen.
